Reads the export, not the device
ConfigProof reads a configuration export. This control is evaluated against the objects in that file, and it reports what the file says. It does not connect to the device and sees no traffic, so a finding here describes the configuration, not what the firewall is doing right now.
Why it matters
A stack member nothing defines supplies no settings. Whatever an operator expected that template to contribute is absent from every device the stack serves, and the stack itself gives no sign of it.
How to fix it
Web interface
The steps below are written for the web interface. A finding raised on your own export carries the same steps with your object names filled in.
- Confirm whether the template was renamed or removed.
- Restore the template, or remove the member from the stack.
- Push to one device and confirm the settings you expect are present.
Command line
Panorama CLI
delete template-stack <object-name> templates <missing-template>An example. Values in angle brackets are yours to supply; a finding on your own export fills in the names it read. Nothing here commits or pushes. Review, commit, then push to your devices yourself.
Read it back
show template-stack <object-name>Values to fill in2
- <object-name>
- The object's name, as it appears on your firewall
- <missing-template>
- The template the stack names and does not have
Before you type it2
- The managed devices keep running their current policy until you push.
- Either define what is being named, or remove the reference to it.
How to confirm the fix
- Confirm the template is not defined on a different Panorama in a multi-manager estate.
- Read the affected settings back from one device the stack serves.
Limits
- The reference graph covers this configuration only. A name defined outside this file cannot be seen.
